Permissions
A permission is a task that allows staff to perform a specific action. Permissions are located in the User tab of the portal and are divided into two types:
Portal Permissions
App Permissions
- Access Printer Settings
- Allow Password Reset
- Allowed to Add Ad-Hoc Items
- Allowed to Create Custom Labels
- Allowed to Download Updates
- Allowed to Select Different Printer Profile, Overriding Default Printer Profile
- Allowed to Select Hot Buttons, Overriding Default Printer Profile
- Auto Logout Enabled
- Allow Price Adjustment
- Allowed Prepped Quantity Override
- Allowed to Edit Expiration Date and Time
- Allowed to Edit Prepared Date and Time
- Allowed to Order Labels
- Require Password
- Update Item Retail Pricing from App
The permissions displayed are based on the user type selected, with a green checkmark indicating the permission is turned on. See DateCodeGenie® User Types.
Additional permissions may appear based on additional purchased software add-ons.
There are two ways to set permissions:
- Individually for each staff member added, see How to Update Permissions.
- Set by user type, called default permissions, see Default Permissions.
