Set Up Location Overrides in the Portal
Table of Contents
Location Overrides allow you to manage menu items by location without creating separate menus. This is helpful when some locations require different pricing, availability, or other menu item features.
See Location Overrides for a complete list of location overrides features.
When you download updates on the app of the device, the appropriate features will display for menu items at the location the device is assigned to.
TIP & TRICK
- Add all your menu item location overrides using the Location Overrides tab of the Mass Export. See Updating and Adding Data to my Portal Using Mass Export
- Want to save time? When adding a new location to your portal, you can use Mass Export and assign it to menu items via Location Overrides. This automatically adds the location to the menu items while adding the location overrides after reimport in Mass Import. For steps, see the Location Overrides using Mass Export and Import accordion below.
Location Overrides using the Menu Items tab
Use this method to update Location Overrides one menu item at a time. It is best for when only a few menu items or locations need updates.

2. Request an export from the export button in the upper right corner of the page.

3. Click OK at top of page to confirm request.

4. Refresh browser and scroll down on the page to Exports or wait to receive an email (sent to email used for portal login) notifying you your export is ready to be downloaded.

5. Open the downloaded file from your computer's download file or at the bottom left corner and first Enable Editing in the yellow bar at the top of the document.
