Print StockSmart Labels from a DateCodeGenie® Device

Print StockSmart labels with the product name, lot code, and QR code from your DateCodeGenie device.
Staff prints StockSmart labels when receiving orders, see Receive Orders in StockSmart.
The benefits of using labels with StockSmart include:
- Having the lot code and product name clearly printed on your stocked products.
- Scanning the QR code into StockSmart to quickly search the product, making stock management easier and faster.
There are three parts to set up StockSmart label printing:
1. Turn on Cloud Print API
Send an email to dcgintegrations@ncco.com with your portal name, asking to turn on the Cloud Print API in your DateCodeGenie portal to print labels for StockSmart.
2. Create a Printer Profile in the DateCodeGenie Portal
Create a cloud print printer profile in the DateCodeGenie portal to use with StockSmart.
Steps:
1. Create a printer profile in the DateCodeGenie portal, see Manage Printer Profiles.
2. Check Allow Cloud Printing to enable cloud printing to generate a DateCodeGenie API Key for the printer profile.
3. Go to the layout designer and add the following features from the cloud printing group.
- Batch Number: Prints the lot code on the label.
- QR Code: Prints a QR code that can be scanned in StockSmart to look up the product.
- Item Name: Prints the product name on the label.
WARNING
All other printer profile features will not appear on labels printed from StockSmart.
4. Click Save Changes.
3. Add the DateCodeGenie API Key to StockSmart
Get the DateCodeGenie API Key from your printer profile, then go to StockSmart and add it to a DateCodeGenie device.
Steps:
1. Find the DateCodeGenie API Key from the printer profile's editing page in the DateCodeGenie portal.
2. Launch StockSmart from the EatSuite dashboard.
3. Select your store from the dropdown.
4. Click DateCodeGenie under the Equipment tab.
5. Add the DateCodeGenie API key as the Printer Profile ID for a DateCodeGenie device.
Edit the DateCodeGenie device from the list, or add a new device.
Edit an existing device
a. Click the edit button (pencil icon) next to the device
b. Paste the DateCodeGenie API key under Printer Profile ID.
c. Click SAVE CHANGES.
Add a new device
a. Click ADD DEVICE.
b. Type the UDID and Serial Number, then click SEARCH DEVICE.
c. OPTIONAL: Type a Device Name to help you quickly identify your DateCodeGenie devices from the list.
d. Add the DateCodeGenie API Key under Printer Profile ID.
e. Click ASSIGN TO THIS LOCATION.
6. Ensure the device is set to Printing ON.
