What’s New in the DateCodeGenie Portal

The new DateCodeGenie portal is here! This update gives the portal a fresh new look that matches our other digital products and makes managing your data much faster.

Updates at a Glance
The portal update is all about making things faster by removing constant clicking and scrolling.
Try the Preview: Portal administrators and managers can easily jump back and forth between the old and new look using the Switch to Legacy Portal View or Switch to New Portal View button in the top left.

1. Easier Navigation
- Buttons Stay Put: The top action bar is now frozen at the top of the screen. You can always see buttons like + Add Item and Save Changes, even if you scroll down a long page.

2. Categories Tab
Drag-and-Drop Rows: You can now manually change the order of your rows. Just click Re-Order, drag them where you want them, and click Finish Re-Ordering. See Manage Categories

NOTE
Where will this feature be available next? This is only on the Categories tab for now, but we plan to add it to other pages if users like it.
3. Items Tab (Formerly "Menu Items")
- Quick Double-Click Editing: You no longer have to open a whole separate form to change an item. Just double-click right inside the table cell to make a quick change and save it. See Manage Items

- Pick Your Columns: Choose exactly what information shows up on your items table by using the Select Columns button to turn fields on or off.

- Faster Way to Add Items: Clicking + Add Item now opens a short, simple form for just the item information: Item Name, Category, and Add to Locations / Sub Organizations (choose one, multiple, or all locations).

- Clean Tabbed Layout: Once you click Create, the rest of the advanced options appear in neat horizontal tabs across one screen, so you don't have to scroll up and down to find them.

NOTE
Purchased software add-on options, such as Product Control, will only appear if these features are turned on for your portal.
4. Training & Support
Updated Knowledge Base: The entire Knowledge Base has been updated with new screenshots and steps that match the new look. See all Portal articles!
