QR codes are a two dimensional image consisting of an array of black and white squares used to convert a URL link or text into an image that can be scanned by a scanner or read by a camera on a smartphone.

There are three different options for QR code use with DateCodeGenie®:

  • Menu Item Specific QR Code
    • Add one UR link or text to the QR code field for a specific menu item from the menu item tab of your portal.
    • See Add a Menu Item QR Code.
  • Printer Profile Specific QR Code
    • Add one or more URL link or text to the Profile QR code feature for a specific printer profile from the printer profile tab of your portal.
    • See Add a Printer Profile QR Code.
  • Product Control Specific Print ID QR Code
    • An auto generated Print ID QR code available for Product Control Tracking can be added to a printer profile from the printer profile tab of your portal.
    • The print ID feature embeds the date and time the menu item was prepped and printed which can be scanned later to record waste tracking for the exact menu item wasted.
    • See Set Up Product Control Tracking in the Portal.
